Smart Parker Card
The Green Commuter Car Park (GCCP) is the “green” car park at QEIIMC. This car park is for employees who car pool or take alternative transport three times a week or more, and are able to come to work with their car once or twice a week.

The Smart Parker Card is an electronic parking ticketing system that uses smartcard technology incorporating an embedded microchip to communicate with the GCCP boom gate. The embedded microchip enables value to be stored onto your Smart Parker Card, so you pay as you go.

The daily vehicle movement is recorded and the daily fare value is deducted from the stored value on your card. The Smart Parker Card is very easy to use and all you need to remember is to add value to your card.

Getting Started

1. Obtain a Smart Parker Card

Smart Parker cards are available from the Parking Branch (A Block, 3rd floor) and will be available to those who have successfully applied for a GCCP permit.

2. Add value to your Smart Parker Card

Once you have obtained a Smart Parker Card you will need to add value to it. A minimum of $10 must be added to your Smart Parker Card to allow you to use the GCCP. You can add value to your Smart Parker Card at the Parking Branch (A Block, 3rd floor). Payment must be made by either cash or cheque and a receipt will be issued.

3. Start using your Smart Parker Card

Just swipe the Smart Parker Card at the boom gate each time you enter or exit the GCCP. You will be charged on a daily basis.

The parking charges are 60% of the current parking charges, therefore $0.90 cents per day.

Please do not tailgate as you may be charged longer than you have actually parked.

Smart Parker Card Rules

The Smart Parker Card has been programmed to:

  • not allow you to enter into the GCCP if you have not swiped out whilst exiting.  If this occurs please contact the Parking Branch.
  • allow you to enter and exit as many times in one day.
You will be only charged at the first entry within a 24 hour period.
  • allow you free parking for the first ten minutes.
  • Not allow you to enter if you have an invalid card; insufficient credit or exceed your weekly allowance of two days.
  • Alert GCCP parkers either by email or SMS if there is insufficient credit, low credit or has exceeded their weekly quota.
