Parking space for vehicles within the QEIIMC site is limited and unfortunately it is not possible to meet all the parking needs of staff and visitors. To park on the QEIIMC site, it is necessary to have a valid parking permit attached to your vehicle.
Staff are only permitted to park in the designated staff car parking areas. Staff are NOT permitted to park in the visitors’ car parks. The number of permits that can be issued to staff is capped by the Department for Planning and Infrastructure. As a result, permits are issued to those who most need to park on-site.
Permits to park on-site are issued to staff in the following group order subject to availability.
Parking permits are only valid for one year 1 July to 30 June. The 2008/09 permits will expire on 30 June 2009. All QEIIMC staff will require to reapply for a 2009/10 permit.
Applications for the 2009/10 permits are now available. Forms need to be filled out correctly and signed off by your Manager or Head of Department before it is sent to the Parking Branch A Block 3rd Floor.
A temporary parking branch has been established in Watling St opposite the State Head Injury Head Unit (old MRI rooms).
The 2009/10 Parking Priority Groups have slightly changed from the previous year. The new priority groups are as follows:
Priority Group 1
- Couriers/laboratory/maintenance/contractor vehicles
- Employees with special disability access needs
- Government vehicles
- Night-time shift-workers
- Staff who start before 7.00am and/or finish after 6.30pm
- Staff who work between campuses and those on emergency on-call
- Volunteers
Priority Group 2
- Green Commuters and car poolers
Priority Group 3
- Staff who work between 7.00am and 6.30pm
Free off-site parking is available at Graylands Hospital for staff that previously held a 2008/09 parking permit and are no longer permitted to park at QEIIMC. Free shuttle buses are available to transport staff to and from Graylands Hospital and the QEIIMC during peak periods.
