Welcome to QEIIMC Trust

The QEII Medical Centre requires a Travel Plan so it can improve the public space amenity on the site and improve site management. The plan helps to meet the requirements of the planning authorities, in order to meet future undertakings on managing the traffic impacts and parking of QEIIMC activities as it continues to develop on its current constrained site. The Travel Plan was developed and implemented in partnership with staff, community and stakeholder representatives.

The objectives of the Travel Plan aim to reduce the adverse environmental impacts of transport to and from the QEIIMC site.  It will reduce over-dependence on travel by single occupancy car travel, by encouraging greater use of car pooling, public transport, walking and cycling.

The Travel Plan is about everyone making small changes to the way they travel.  Together, everyone can make a significant impact.

QEIIMC Trust has taken part in national, state and local initiatives to promote a range of sustainable travel choices, which include:

  • Taking park in “Bike to Work” initiatives;
  • Providing an online car pooling register for staff on the QEIIMC site;
  • Providing information on the website for visitors, patients and staff with maps of the area around Nedlands, with bus stops, route numbers for travelling; and
  • Working with City of Subiaco, City of Nedlands, government departments and authorities and industries to promote healthy travel initiatives.

Contributors to the Travel Plan

A Working Party contributed local knowledge and ideas throughout the preparation of the Travel Plan. It comprised representatives from the North Metropolitan Area Health Services including SCGH, PathWest, The Niche, UWA, City of Nedlands, City of Subiaco and Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

The consultative process that developed the Travel Plan incorporated critical input from employee focus groups and a stakeholder workshop.
